Speakers Guidelines

The GDA International Downstream Conference & Exhibition (IDCE) 2025 will take place on 30th September to 2nd October, 2025, at the Exhibition World, Kingdom of Bahrain.

Over the three days, speakers and presenters from various Downstream disciplines will present their solutions to thousands of attendees. Presentations from operators, regulators, solution providers, academia and research centers will make IDCE 2025 an exciting opportunity to share knowledge, case studies, best practices and lessons learned in the industry.

If you are presenting at the GDA IDCE 2025 this year, this document plans to provide you with important information regarding your participation and enable preparing an effective presentation aiming to communicate the importance and significance of your work.

All presenters are required to upload their PowerPoint presentations through the Ex-Ordo platform. Each speaker will receive a unique login ID and access link via email. This link will allow speakers to access their profile, update their abstract if needed, and upload their final presentation.

Dress code: Formal suits or Traditional Arabic Thobe attire is required for all speakers and moderators.

Presentation Guidelines
  • Official conference language is English
  • Presentation slides must be created with Microsoft PowerPoint only.
  • Presentation template provided must be used. Format presentation as 16:9
  • Limit the number of slides to a maximum of 15 slides.
  • You are allotted 10 minutes in total for your presentation. In addition, other 10 minutes for Questions and Answers will be allotted for the four presenters in a combined presentation set up with one moderator. This combined technical session will run for one hour in total.
  • For Digital Poster Presentation, You are allotted 2 Hours in total for your presentation including the sime for Questions and Answers.
  • The Session Chair will keep time and will facilitate discussions/question and answer sessions.
  • The presentation must align with and correspond to the abstract submitted/accepted for presentation.
  • You should always carry a backup copy of your presentation on a USB drive.
  • You will need to be present in your session hall 15 minutes prior to the beginning of your session.

Presentation Content

  • Slide number (in the format: 'X of Y') and date on each slide
  • More graphics and less text – conveying clear messages in each slide
  • Avoid crowding slides with too much data/charts
  • Clearly indicate sources of specific quotes/information
  • Use case studies / real application results and short videos, where appropriate
  • May consider using quick polls to engage the audience using QR code and mobile app, if possible
  • Keep detailed slides as "Back-up" for use during Q&A, if required
  • Conclusions – Key Takeaways

    • Moderators

  • You will be introduced and connected to the moderator prior to the conference.
  • You should provide the moderator three questions to ask during your Q & A session to encourage audience participation.
